Honors Pre-calc
Instructor: Dr. Li
Thanks for staying interested in this advanced math course, intended for mindful students to get more well-rounded explanations missing from common schools. The smooth transitions and derivations make each period seemingly shorter. I will engage the students in some select problems to highlight the power of the theorems or formulae. I will also give simple/natural proofs and draw relations with relevant theorems, from both algebraic and geometric aspects. Math is not a warehouse of formulae, but rather the powerhouse of innovative ideas. I will cover the following important topics throughout this academic year:
- Power, Polynomial, and Rational Functions
- Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
- Trigonometric Functions and Identities
- Vectors, Parametrics, and Polars
- Systems and Matrices
- Discrete Math
- Analytic Geometry in Three Dimensions
Materials are included.
